Discover something new...
On my walk, I also discovered one of my new favorite places in Covington, it's only 2 blocks away from my house and I didn't even know it was there.
A little park at the corner of W. Southern & 35th. It is kind of tucked away, and in the spring and summer when there are leaves on the trees I bet it is even lovelier.
Also on my walk, I passed a church. Although I am not a particularly religious person, I would say that I am spiritual, none-the-less, I can appreciate the sounds of pure joy, and it is just that that I heard coming from the church.
So, on this lovely day in February, take advantage of the sun. Take a walk, discover something new and find your joy.
"Photograph-cising"
Want to get a good workout without it feeling like work. Grab your camera and your tennis shoes and take a walk. I took a walk today and it turned into a two hour walk. I was so busy looking for things to photograph that I forgot about the time. Since I've been trapped in the house due to the snow and cold temperatures, a two hour walk was a well needed boost for the body. Get out and enjoy the weather, while you can, and don't worry about the time, pick a theme or just snap some fun shots. Your body will thank you.

Teamwork.
I was watching the Today show this morning and they were showing sme clips of past superbowls and there was a clip from George W. Bush talking about the Superbowl. Surprisingly, it might be one of the greasted things I have ever heard a politician say. He said, "As the team took the field, we were shown that teamwork is important, that the individual matters to the team but the team is bigger than the individual. We are here to serve somthing greater than ourselves." I mean really, isn't this a great sentiment. It holds true for so many aspects of our lives. Work, family, the nation, the world....I think that the politician's of today should all take a leson from Bush (well, I never thought I'd be saying that)...It's time for politicians to get it into there heads that we have to all work together. It's not about your side or their side, it has to be about what is best for everyone as a whole. The politicians of todays world can set a great example for the rest of the country and work together rather than working against eachother and maybe more will get accomplished. Yes, everryone is important, but it is our responsibility to work with others in order to make it a better place for everyone. As you go about your daily lives, stop and think about the larger picture. If everyone just takes one moment out of each day to do something that serves a greater purpose than themselves, not to sound cheesy, the world truly would be a better place. So today, as you watch the teams take the field, think about teamwork, think about how each member of the team works to benefit the whole team, not just themself. Without individuals, there is no team, but without the work of each and every individual the team fails. And after the whistle blows and the game is over and we start another work week, take these sentiments with you and apply them. Whether it is helping a family member or a stranger, whether it is volunteering your time or just going a little above and beyond to help out, we ALL are here to serve something greater than ourselves. Pass it on.
